Ray Joseph Hershey, 75, of Lititz, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Ivan and Virginia (Gochnauer) Hershey.
Ray was a hardworking auto mechanic, spending his career with Martin Buick (Red Rose Buick) and Sauder Chevrolet. He took pride in his 1977 Buick Regal and enjoyed riding motorcycle. Ray was passionate about square dancing, bowling, playing cards and board games. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren playing mini golf, going on cruises, and more.
In the last few years of Ray’s declining health, his family would get him McDonald’s pancakes every single day at his request. A special thank you to Sawyer at the Kissel Hill location for his care and concern, as well as making sure the pancakes were available all day.
Ray is survived by his son, Dean R. Hershey (Jennifer), 3 grandchildren: Kelsea Groff (Hayden), Jordan Hershey, and Parker Hershey; 2 great-grandchildren: Harper and Shay Groff; and brother Jay Hershey (Charlotte). He was predeceased by his wife Ruth (Felpel) Hershey and his sister Ruth Oberdorf.
The family will receive guests from 5-7 PM on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Ray’s name to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601.
