Raleigh S. Doom, 80, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, August 22, 2026. He was the devoted husband of Nancy J. (Myer) Doom, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.
Born in Goodwin, AR in 1945, he was a son of the late Raleigh & Ruby (Jordan) Doom.
Raleigh served in the U.S. Army as an inventory specialist in the Cold War Missile training program. He attained his master's degree in Divintity from Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana and ministered to various communities before settling in the Lancaster area. Once settled, he found a new interest for construction and finished his working years in HVAC sales. He and his wife regularly attended Calvary Church.
He will be remembered as a Christian man and a family man. He enjoyed watching sports, loved being outdoors, NASCAR, and cooking.
In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by their children, Melanie Dilworth, Jennifer Clough, Nathan Doom, Tim Doom, Bruce Doom, and 14 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service celebrating Raleigh's life on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 10:00am in the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be held privately for his family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Raleigh may be made to Mennonite Disaster Service 583 Airport Road, Lititz, PA 17543 or Youth with a Mission (YWAM) 1932 West Main Street, Ephrata, PA 17522.
