Norma Jean Trissel passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026. She was born on March 7, 1930, in Canton, Ohio to Peter and Julia Repasky.
Norma graduated from Timken Vocational High School in 1947. During these formative years, she loved spending time with friends at both dance & lake parties in Canton. Her high school friends described her as sweet, swell and tops! Post high school, Norma attended Kent State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. There she met her husband, Robert Henry Trissel. They went on to share 59 years of marriage.
Norma was the beloved wife of Robert and devoted mother to her six children. Her favorite moments were those spent with family and friends. She was the quintessential stay-at-home mom through the 60s and was happy to work part-time in a variety of positions throughout her lifetime.
Norma's other passions in life included swing dancing, crafting, gardening and sewing. She was a renowned card shark at Gin Rummy and could finish a 1000-piece puzzle in no time flat. She traveled broadly, both domestically and internationally, due to her husband 's employment at Westinghouse International. Norma's Catholic faith guided her daily as was evident by her commitment to her church community.
Norma's sweet disposition was noted widely by the staff at the Glen at Willow Valley where she lived for the past five years. We are indebted to them for the unending love and support that they offered to her.
Thank you also to Hospice & Community Care of Lancaster County for the additional layer of support.
Norma is survived by her children, Thomas Trissel, Susan Greig, Patricia Cleveland (Robert), Charles Trissel (Cathy), Mary Wolfe (Scott) and Ann Heid. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lancaster, PA. Visitation at the church will be from 10am to 11am. followed by mass at 11am. All are welcome afterwards to a luncheon at Willow Valley in the North building Main Dining Hall at 12pm. Final internment will be held privately at the Maryland Veteran's Cemetery in Crownsville.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking for memorial contributions to be made to Breakthrough T1D (formerly the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation) or The Open Medicine Foundation (the End ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Project).
