Nora L. Koberlein, 77, of Willow Street, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Born in Honesdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Christine (Smith) Koberlein.
Nora graduated from Honesdale Catholic High School in 1967. She continued her education at the University of Maryland, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. Throughout her professional life, she worked at the Naval Yard in Washington D.C. and then as a real estate agent and real estate appraiser in California bringing dedication and care to all she did.
A woman deeply rooted in her faith, Nora was a devoted member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Her faith and her family were the cornerstones of her life, guiding her with quiet strength and compassion.
Nora found great joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved traveling, including a special retreat in South America that held deep significance for her. She especially cherished time spent with family, baking Christmas cookies using treasured recipes passed down from her mother—traditions that created lasting memories for generations. She also treasured her beloved cat, Whitney, and treated her like a princess.
She is lovingly survived by her siblings: Allen Koberlein and his wife Nancy of Willow Street; Roger Koberlein and his wife Nancy of Gordon, TX; Kathleen “Kathy” Meyer and her husband Jack of Hillsboro, WV; and Joanne Hughes and her husband Keith of Dillsburg, PA; along with several nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth and gentle spirit.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in the Multipurpose Room at Willow Valley Lakes. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nora’s memory to the SPCA of Lancaster or to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Honesdale, PA.
