Nancy L. Rowell

Nancy L. Rowell, 78, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026. Born in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late David and Irene Pry.

After moving from Johnstown to Elizabethtown with her parents as a child, Nancy graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School and then spent many years as a secretary. First at Lancaster General Hospital in the Maternity Ward. The rest of her career was spent working for Barry L Nissley Company of Lancaster. Outside of her professional life, she was a longtime member of Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, volunteering with the brown bag lunch program there. She made sure to support her family and took great pride in being a band parent to her daughter Tracy during her years at Lancaster Catholic. At home, you could find her marathoning her favorite movies and shows, cheering on Penn State or Notre Dame, or playing bingo.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Tracy (Gregory) Bailey; and her grandson, Aaron Bailey; she is preceded by her parents; her late husband Francis Rowell, who passed in 1985; and her friend and companion for the past decade, Harold “Had” Asper.

Friends and relatives are welcome to Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 10AM. A memorial service to honor Nancy’s life will be held at the funeral home following the visitation at 11AM. Interment will be private at a later date.
