Michael David Sechler

Michael David Sechler closed his eyes in this world on March 11, 2026, at Lancaster General Hospital and the next second opened his eyes to his heavenly home with Jesus.

Mike was a 1981 graduate of Catasauqua High School and the Vocational Career and Technical Institute. His lifelong love of cooking had him working in the kitchens of several facilities in the Lehigh Valley and New Jersey including Woolworths, former Whitehall Mall, Lehigh Valley Hospital, Luther Crest, The Summit and Heath Village, NJ.

He was the son of the late Richard O. Sechler and the late Joyce F. (Reppert) Sechler. Husband to the late Lisa Metcalf Sechler and ex-wife Sara Sechler.

Michael is survived by his sons, Joshua Sechler (Nicole), Tampa FL and Ethan Addison Sechler of Seattle, WA, and step-sons Ian Metcalf and Sean Metcalf; sisters: Patti Hoffman (Terry) of Schnecksville, PA, and Nancy Schreib of Mount Wolf, PA; brother, David Sechler (Cindy) of Reamstown, PA; Granddaughters Sophia and Mila Sechler of Tampa, FL; and nieces & nephews: Cheryl Schreib, Jennifer MacArthur, Katie Stauter, Jeremy Hoffman, and David Sechler III.

Mike loved hiking and enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors. He loved to cook, although some would question his over use of cilantro!
