Mary Lou Keller

Mary Lou Keller, 94 Saint Mark Avenue, Lititz, PA, passed from this life on June 27, 2026 at Lititz, PA. Mrs. Keller was born in 1941 in Lancaster, PA, a daughter of Samuel and Alice Frye.

She was graduated from McCaskey High School, Lancaster, in 1959, and from the Lankenau School of Nursing, Philadelphia, in 1962. She was employed as a nurse in the recovery room of Lankenau Hospital from 1962 to 1965. She was a medical/surgical floor nurse at Punxsutawney Area Hospital from 1968 to 1990. In the Franklin area, she held a variety of nursing positions.

On May 23, 1964, she was married to the Rev. Frederick G. Keller, who survives.

Mrs. Keller was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Elizabethtown, PA. She had been a member of the Theatre Arts Guild in Punxsutawney, PA, appearing in a number of their productions. She had also been an active member of the Punxsutawney Nurses Club. While a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Franklin, PA, she was a member of the adult choir and also taught an adult Church School class.

Since moving to Luther Acres in Lititz in 2009, Mary Lou has been involved in many of the community activities. She was a volunteer at the community store for several years and served several terms as secretary of the Resident Council. She was one who visited new residents, helping them to acclimate to the community and the area. She also served several years on the annual Strawberry Festival Committee and was a trained volunteer in the community ministry “No Resident Dies Alone”. She volunteered for a number of years in the arrangements for the annual bazaars held by the Resident Council. Mary Lou always enjoyed helping others and welcoming them to the community.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Keller is survived by two daughters, Mary Margaret Barnoff and son-in-law Jay, Punxsutawney, PA, and Anna-Marie Shears and son-in-law Dan, Burghill, OH; three grandchildren, Rebecca DiBuono (John) and great-granddaughter Luna DiBuono of Florida, Jenna Barnoff of Florida, and Andrew Barnoff of Punxsutawney; and by a sister, Bettijo Charles, Lancaster, and by a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Keller was preceded in death by her son, Peter, and by her parents.

The Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home, Lititz, PA is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Christ Lutheran Church, Elizabethtown on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. with the Funeral Liturgy to follow at 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated by the Rev. Albert J. Domines, senior pastor. Interment will be at Skyview Memorial Park, Hometown, PA on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

The family suggests that memorial gifts be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 125 E. High Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, or to Luthercare, 600 East Main Street, Lititz, PA 17543, or to Hospice and Community Care, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike, Mt. Joy, Pa 17552.
