Madge "Peggy" Ober

ln Loving Memory of Madge (Peggy) Ober

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Madge (Peggy) Ober, a devoted and loving mother, a remarkable woman, and an enduring source of inspiration to her family. Peggy was 82 years old.

Peggy was born on May 24, 1944, to Marianne Kready Ditzler and Edward Ditzler of Lancaster. She graduated from Penn Manor High School in 1962 and spent many years working at Packaging Corporation of America before retiring from Southern Container Corporation. She was married for 47 years to David W. Ober, Harrisburg, until his death in 2019.

Above all, Peggy cherished her family. Her nurturing spirit, unwavering support, and boundless love will forever live on in the hearts of her four children: Lori Yeager (Mike), Leigh Anne Selden (Nathan), Jennifer Ober (John Ginkel), and Erik Ober (Evelynn). She was a proud and loving grandmother to seven grandchildren-Kyle (Danielle) and Brianna Yeager, and Kaden, Kasen, Kielynn, Karsen, and Kinsley Ober-and a delighted great-grandmother to Oliver Yeager. Her love was a constant presence in their lives, and the memories they shared with her will remain treasured for generations to come.

Peggy had a passion for travel and a curiosity about the world that took her to many beautiful places. Among her favorites were Paris, Lucerne, Santorini, Istanbul, Izmir, Dubrovnik, Kotor Bay, St. John U.S.V.I. and North Carolina's Outer Banks. She embraced the joy of discovering new places and creating lasting memories along the way. When home in Lancaster, she found happiness tending to her flowers and plants, caring for her backyard pond, and making sure the local birds were always well fed.

Those who knew Peggy will remember her for her empathy, warmth, and generous spirit. She had a special gift for making others feel cared for, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer support, or simply be there when someone needed her. Her kindness and compassion touched countless lives, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her love extended beyond people, too, embracing every animal that became part of the family-including dogs, cats, hamsters, a piranha, and a parakeet. Each held a special place in her heart, just as she will forever hold a special place in ours.

Peggy was predeceased by her sisters, Elissa Shultz and Diane Heberlein, both of Lancaster. In addition to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson, she is survived by her brother, Daniel Ditzler (Doris), of Lancaster.

Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, Peggy's love, kindness, and zest for life will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind. Her legacy lives on in the family she treasured, the lives she touched, the beauty she nurtured, and the countless memories that will forever bring comfort and smiles to those who loved her.
