Luther I. Heiser

Luther I. Heiser, 92, of Lititz, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Brethren Village Retirement Community. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Elvenia (Brown) Heiser and Luther H. Heiser. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy Heiser, who passed away in 2021. Luther and Nancy shared over 67 years of marriage.

Luther proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. Professionally, he worked as a design engineer at IBM for many years until his retirement. It was during his time at IBM that he met the love of his life, Nancy, beginning a lifelong partnership.

An active member of Highland Presbyterian Church, Luther enjoyed a full and active life. He loved spending time outdoors and could often be found golfing, riding his bike, tending to his garden, or working in the yard. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge and pinochle, dancing, and traveling. One of his favorite adventures included time spent in Japan. With a creative and thoughtful mind, Luther also designed several of the homes that he and Nancy lived in over the years.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Hartman of New Jersey, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, Nancy, he was preceded in death by his sister, Fern Reindak.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private at Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading.
