Lucille B. Atterberry

Lucille B. Atterberry, 81, of Mountville, Peaceful went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Neffsville Nursing & Rehab. Born in Henderson, NC, she was the daughter of the late Plummer and Virginia (Hammie) Baskerville. Lucille was the loving wife of Robert T. Atterberry, Sr., with whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Lucille was a devoted Christian, loved the Lord, church, and worship music. She was a dedicated homemaker, who lovely gave her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She always put her family first. Lucille was a wonderful cook who made fantastic desserts, including her famous pumpkin roll. She enjoyed crafts, especially making wreaths, and planting flowers. Lucille was a huge wrestling fan and adored John Cena, who she met at a wrestling event in Baltimore.

In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by her children: Anjanette Atterberry and Robert Atterberry, Jr.; grandchildren: Juwaun, Lilliana, Delilah, Amiyah, and Izaiah; siblings: Lucy Wright and Sarah Baskerville; and a host of family and friends. She will also be deeply missed by her beloved Shih Tzu, Dodge. Lucille was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Savion Atterberry and Zander Atterberry ; and siblings: Willie and Plummer Baskerville.

Funeral Services for Lucille will be private and at the convenience of the family.
