Khamphong Chanthongthip

Khamphong Chanthongthip, 84, of Manheim, PA, passed away on June 24, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Laos, he was the son of the late Kham and Boun Chanthongthip. Khamphong was the loving husband to Phouthong (Inthavong) Chanthongthip for over 60 years.

In addition to his wife, Phouthong, Khamphong is survived by his son: Phoulideth Chanthongthip, husband of Jean; a daughter: Nook Hartman, wife of Jason; grandchildren: Chloe and Will Hartman, Vanessa Chanthongthip, Angel, Sonia and Kelli, 3 sisters: Bouapha Chanthongthip of Manheim, Naly Sayapheth of Winnepeg, Manitoba (Canada), and Khammy Chanthongthip (Laos). He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and one sister.

Khamphong grew up in Laos but in 1978, he brought his family to the US for a better life and he dreamed of becoming a business owner. He achieved his dream and was a successful restaurant owner in Lancaster, PA. Khamphong was also a prominent figure in the Lao community and will be remembered for his leadership and generosity.

In his spare time, Khamphong enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and watching nature shows. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Khamphong had a very large extended family including many nieces and nephews from all across the US and around the world and was known as “Grandpa” to all of them. Khamphong was extremely loved and respected and will be dearly missed.

A Buddhist Ceremony will be held from 10 AM – 1 PM on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
