After a long and faithful journey, Kenneth Gibble, 84, of Lititz surrendered into the Love that is God on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at his home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Ralph and Anna Ober Gibble. Ken and his wife Sue Wooley were wed on July 14, 2001. He obtained his Master of Divinity from Bethany Seminary and later his Doctorate of Ministry. For 52 years his work in ministry took him through the doors of numerous churches. Ken’s career as a pastor began with Ridgeway Community Church where he would spend the next 15 years. He later transitioned to Arlington Church of the Brethren in Virginia, and lastly Chambersburg Church of the Brethren. He most recently was a faithful member of Akron Mennonite Church.
Ken was a master gardener who enjoyed volunteering his time to serve others. He volunteered at Vision Resources, as an ESL aide and as a shopper for meals on wheels. He was a proud published poet who had a way with words and also a sense of humor. He was a gentle soul who always had the time and patience for others, sharing his calming presence with those around him. His other passions included photography and reading as well as traveling to new places both far and near.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Katie Gibble wife of Jason Smith, a stepson, Dane Christensen, a granddaughter, Autumn Smith, nieces, Carol McCall, Angee Kreider, Beth Maday, nephews, Michael Gibble, and AJ Kreider. Preceding him in passing is his wife of 25 years, Ann Earhart Gibble, a brother, Clifford Gibble and a sister, Elaine Hertzog.
