Julie M. (Crandall) Smith, 56, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026 at home, surrounded by family. Born in San Rafael, CA, and raised in King Ferry, NY, she was the beloved daughter of James Crandall III and Cu (Vo) Crandall, and the devoted wife of Stacey Smith.

At the absolute center of Julie’s life was her deep devotion to family and friends. Known for her exceptional warmth, organization, and effortless gift for coordination, Julie served as the heart and hub of her social circle—the ultimate bridge that kept everyone connected. She thrived on bringing people together, from the lifelong bonds she nurtured to the many cherished friendships she formed as an active member of the Conestoga Valley Church of Christ and during her 13 years as an administrative assistant at Sageworth. Having grown up near Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes, her happiest memories were spent with extended family during summertime gatherings at the lake.

Alongside her love for family and friends was Julie’s passion for travel and adventure. Whether drawn to the quiet beauty of lakes or family vacations to the ocean, she found true joy in exploring new travel destinations with those she loved. Among her favorite adventures were trips with her husband to St. John Virgin Islands and England, where she fulfilled a lifelong dream by visiting the home of the Royal Family—a trip that held profound personal meaning given her childhood affinity for Princess Diana and British royalty.

In addition to her husband, Stacey, and her parents, James and Cu, Julie’s memory will be cherished forever by her daughter, Jenna Smith; her siblings, James Crandall IV (Phyllis), Thu Lien Vo, Viet Tran, (Hoang); her father-in-law, Gary Smith; her mother-in-law, Nancy Bacon (Randy); her brother-in-law, Troy Smith (Bettina); and her beloved nieces and nephews: Leila Crandall, James Crandall, Quy Chau, Ly Chau, Dan Le, Tuan Tran, Tu Tran, Vanessa Jilke, and Sandee Smith.

Friends and loved ones will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Conestoga Valley Church of Christ, 2045 Horseshoe Rd, Lancaster, PA 17602, with a Celebration of Julie’s Life beginning at 4 PM.
