Judith Laurel Maier

Judith “Judy” Laurel Maier, 85, of Lititz, PA, passed away on August 12, 2026 at Brethren Village. Born in Palisades Park, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Marie (Knapp) Kelly. Judy was previously married to the late John Maier, III.

In addition to being a wife and mother, Judy excelled professionally while also obtaining graduate degrees in Education and Social Work. Judy was so proud to retire as the Commissioner of Social Services from Sullivan County, New York. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she was an avid swimmer, enjoyed traveling, was active in her church and community; Judy loved being a member of the local Pilot Club.

Judy is survived by a daughter: Christiane (Maier) Walker; a son: David John Maier; 3 grandchildren: Daniel Maier, Katherine Walker and Sarah Walker; a sister: Claudia (Kelly) Walter; and many nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by a brother: Galen Kelly.
