Juan Rivera Martinez

Juan Rivera-Martinez was born January 21, 1933 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Bautista Martinez and Pascual Rivera. He was a devoted father of seven and a caring grandfather and great-grandfather. Juan loved his family unconditionally and exemplified what a good father was.

Although his children were already adults, he still continued to provide and care for them. He was often seen walking through downtown, carrying groceries for his children just because he thought of them. He was a kind, caring and hardworking man with a quiet demeanor. To know him was to love him. He was a gentle grandfather and great- grandfather who always offered up candies to whoever walked through the door. Juan loved his family most of all, but his other love was agriculture. He took great pride in being a farmer, a dream he had since childhood. He spent many years walking through Downtown Lancaster for enjoyment. In his later years, he shared stories with his grandchildren about his life in Puerto Rico with great pride. His laugh, comfort, light up the room smile and humor will greatly be missed.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA. 17602, from 10am to 11am with a service to begin at 11am. Burial to follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
