Joseph Louis Kecki

On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, our world was shattered into a million pieces when we lost our precious Jo Jo. Joseph Louis Kecki, was only 39 years old, shy of his 40th birthday by 17 days, when he left us to carry on without him. He spent every moment of his journey here living life to its absolute fullest, touching every single person along his way with joy.

It is universally agreed that the most important thing to Joe is FAMILY! Joey is part of a chaotic, large, and utterly ridiculous close-knit group of people that defy definition. Our devotion to each other is only outweighed by our ability to fight and argue in the same breath in which we declare our love for one another. And in the emotional center of this group is Joey, the glue that holds us all to each other.

Meeting Natalie in 2008 was the beginning of an inseparable love story. There is no explanation for the depth of their connection that seemed to cross centuries, where conversations flowed without effort and silence felt comfortable instead of awkward. They understand each other in ways that should take years to develop yet it happened in just moments. Theirs is a soul connection that is rare and precious. They are each other’s person.

His devotion to her was rivaled only by the arrival of their son Liam in 2010. Liam is his world. Literally his ENTIRE world. Every thought, every decision, every fiber of his being revolves around his son. They share an unbreakable bond, a devotion, a connection that is like a stillness that stretches on forever. For Liam, his dad is his guiding light, his fearless protector, his compass pointing him towards who he is to become, and most importantly his best friend. This trio formed its own foundation and began a shared journey of love, laughter and living life as a single unit.

In addition to being a husband and father, Joey is the beloved son of Steven Kecki, and the cherished son of Kathleen & Greg Fouse. From childhood adventures to life’s hardest moments he walked side-by-side with his siblings. He is the younger brother of Daniel Kecki and they were like two sides of the same coin - opposite in nature but together they are whole. He is a big brother to Sarah Kecki who is really Joe’s “big bossy sister," that Joe always made sure he knew she was loved and an important person in his life. He was the relentless protector of his baby sister Katie Schaffner for whom no boys were ever good enough but to whom she always could count on. Then to the baby of the family, Zackaryah: they shared an unbreakable brotherly bond bound by love, loyalty and friendship. He was also loved by Isaac and Stephanie Fouse.

In perfect preparation for fatherhood he shared in the joy and responsibilities of raising his nieces and nephews. Before fatherhood his most proudest role was as a devoted uncle to a legion of “littles” who adore their Uncle Jo Jo. He was a stern voice, a protective guardian, and their biggest prankster, biggest antagonizer but their biggest HERO. They know that he is always present, always kind, and always offering a listening ear. He gives them a sense of belonging no matter what was needed, their constant safe place. He is the person they can always count on. His influence and legacy will live on forever in Savanna, Mia, Makaila, Kaileib, Louis, Grayson, Kaden, Xavier and our sweet baby Oliver as well as Shawn, Eli and Hope.

Joe has pursued countless hobbies with enthusiasm and child like excitement, some with greater success than others. As an adult he taught himself guitar after long hours of YouTube videos, many trips to buy new strings, and MUCH frustration. His attempt at the saxophone, a requested Christmas present, led to some success despite splitting reeds often. He especially enjoyed playing his beloved Poppy’s accordion Paintball with his brothers and everything outdoors was his happy place.

In his welding and mechanical work Joe has found his true calling. Guided by a sense of purpose and fulfillment he poured his whole heart into his work. Alongside two of his younger brothers he was taught and mentored by his stepfather Greg who introduced Joey to the world of welding while in his early twenties. Thus began his journey of forged bonds, brotherhoods and true friendships. Joe was ….”that guy at work always early.. staying late. He left his mark on the young kids he mentored ….together they gravitated towards him because he was a natural teacher and he made them feel comfortable ….he treated those kids like they were his own…… he poured his heart into making sure they succeeded in everything they did at work and outside of work.”

In addition, Joe is survived by his Nanny, Kay Kecki, to whom his main objective is to make her laugh with each conversation. He leaves behind two devoted Aunts: Aunt La La, Linda Carney and Aunt Jenny (Galka); his two uncles: Matthew Krzysiak and Uncle Rich Galka; cousins: JJ Kecki, Emily and Eli Galka, Gage and Garret Krzysiak and many other family members scattered throughout the states. He was preceded in death by his revered Poppy, Louis M Kecki; Father-in-law, Brian McKinney; and a great-grandfather, Joseph Krzysiak Sr.
