Joseph G Kane Jr

We announce the passing of Joseph G. Kane Jr., 88, on April 21, 2026, at United Zion Retirement Center, Lititz, PA. He is preceded by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" C. Kane, father, Joseph G. Kane Sr., mother, Catherine (Reilly) Kane, sister, C. Carole (Kane) Bono, brothers, John M. Kane and Gregory M. Kane.

Born on June 20, 1937, in Bridgeport, PA, he was a beloved father, husband, and friend. Joe was known for his wonderful sense of humor, witty puns, dad jokes, his never-ending kindness and caring heart. He dedicated his life to his wife, Betty, who he was married to for 59 years, and his four children.

He is survived by his children, son Joseph G. Kane III, his wife Kim (Garrett) Kane, daughter Elizabeth (Kane) Dougherty and her husband Stuart A. Dougherty, son Timothy P. Kane and daughter Ame (Kane) Fox and her husband Todd L. Fox. He adored his grandchildren Joseph, Galen, Ryan, John, Andrew, Keara, Alyssa and her husband Troy, Kateri nd her husband Steven, and great grandchildren, Willow and Parker.

Joe was a 1955 graduate of Collegeville Trappe High School in Collegeville, PA. He worked as a salesman in the corrugated packaging industry for most of his career and then with both sons in carpentry and painting. He enjoyed vacationing with his family whether it was tent camping or trips to Maine and Cape Cod.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, 10:00 am visitation, followed by 11:00 am mass at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Avenue, Lititz, PA. 17543. Luncheon to follow.

The Kane family wishes to extend our thanks to the caring staff at the United Zion for the kindness and wonderful care they showed dad while he lived there.
