John Pius Schreiner

John P. Schreiner Sr., 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Abbeyville Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on December 31, 1939, he was the son of the late Pius Schreiner and Mary (Walton) Schreiner. John was the most loved husband of Marian Eshleman Black Schreiner, with whom he shared 33 wonderful years of marriage.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his two sisters, Mary and Pauline.

John was employed by Certified Carpet for many years before becoming a messenger for Fulton Bank. He retired from Fulton Bank in 2008. In his free time enjoyed watching wrestling and westerns. In his younger years, he loved skating and bowling. He loved the Eagle and was very patriotic. John struggled over the past two years to regain a normal life following a stroke in 2024.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his three sons: John Jr., Matthew, and Brian Schreiner (Lynn); his stepdaughters, Christina Black (Christian) and Holly Williams (Brian). He is further survived by five grandchildren, one step-grandson, one step-granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his sisters, Helen Schreiner and Marie Schreiner, and his brother, Edward Schreiner (Linda).

A funeral service will be held Monday, May 11, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA, 17543 at 11am. Family invites guests to a viewing prior to service beginning at 10am until the time of service. John will be laid to rest privately.
