John P. Zagorski, 84, of Lititz, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children and grandchildren, Monday, February 23, 2026, at United Zion Retirement Community. Born in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Anna (Beacher) Zagorski.
Following his graduation from Shenandoah Catholic High School, John joined the US Navy where he proudly served on the USS Arcadia, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. During his time in the Navy, John earned his associates degree in electronics. After his honorable discharge, he went to work for RCA in Lancaster, in electronics testing for the color spectrometry lab, supporting the development of color tubes.
John remained very active in the community for many years, serving as the Commander for the VFW Post #1462, Lititz. He had a very generous spirit and directed support to many local groups, including the Boy Scouts, Little League, community Police, and other community organizations.
John enjoyed the outdoors, especially his hikes in Middle Creek. A History buff, John, wanted to make sure his children learned about World War II and took them on an Eastern European Tour of the concentration camps to teach them the atrocities of the Nazi regime. John also enjoyed traveling around the world, visiting many places. He stayed connected to his Polish heritage, and often brought Polish foods to gatherings. John took an interest in many things and found great satisfaction in learning whatever he could.
John is survived by his three daughters: Mary Zagorski Maguire, wife of John, of Stevens, Julia Baltz, wife of David, of Port Charlotte, FL, and Jacqueline Zagorski, of Endicott, NY; grandchildren: Adam, Shannon, Joanna, Sarah, William, Cecelia, and Charles; great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Bella, Tristan, Yiannis, and Mercedes; long time loving partner, Delores Staudt, and his sister, Sandra Blewis.
Family and friends will be received for visitation from 10AM to 11AM, Monday, March 9, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
