Joanne Hershey

Joanne L. Hershey, 94, of East Petersburg, PA, passed away on October 10, 2026 at home with family present. She was born in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Lynn E. Brachendorf and the late Mary Painter Brachendorf and the stepdaughter of the late Harriet Brachendorf.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, David J. Hershey and her late son, Lynn R. Hess.

She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. She worked at the former RCA in Lancaster, PA and Maxima in East Petersburg. She was a member of St Leo The Great Catholic Church in Lancaster. Joanne is survived by her three daughters, Kimberly Youndt, Karen Carter, Kathy Skiles and her son David B. Hershey, all of Lancaster County, in addition to 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, Spending time at the beach and antiquing. Friends will be received by Joanne's family on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 10-11AM at St Leo The Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601 with the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
