Jeffrey William Summers

Jeffrey William Summers, 69, of East Petersburg, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on May 2, 2026. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Leon and Shirley (Fry) Summers. He was married to Trudy (Knight) Summers until her passing in 2016.

Jeff was a graduate of Hempfield High School and worked for 35 years as an electrical engineer with Alcoa. He loved to tinker around his home and watch Penn State football and more recently, loved to watch Flyers hockey. He was excited to watch them in the playoffs with his brother-in-law and nephew. Family was at the center of Jeff’s world, and he always looked forward to their trips to Broadkill Beach in Delaware.

Jeff’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the team at Compassus Hospice, specifically Sabrina, Aubrey, and Dawn for their exceptional care and compassion.

Jeff is survived by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Bemesderfer (Craig), nephew Joshua Summers, and niece Skyler Bemesderfer (companion Alden Chambers). He was predeceased by his son, Tyler J. Summers, on September 28, 2020.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at a later date.
