Jeffrey "Jeff" Allen

Jeffrey “Jeff” Allen, 73, of West Lampeter, passed away on April 5, 2026. Born in Darby, PA, he was the son of the late John and Jane (Hunnicutt) Schmus. He was also the beloved husband to Mary (Burris) Allen, with whom he spent 32 beautiful years of marriage.

With a servant’s heart, Jeff always knew that he wanted to help others, which he did professionally both as a special education teacher and as a healthcare worker, beginning as a paramedic and later going to school to become a nurse. Even outside of his professional life, Jeff volunteered with Meals on Wheels, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and as a medical provider to orphans in Haiti through Brit’s Home. When he was not giving back to the community, you could find him outdoors kayaking, completing triathlons, or travelling across the world with his wife Mary.

Jeff is survived by his wife; his sisters and brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be welcomed on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584 from 10-11AM with a celebration of life to follow.
