Janice Kropp, a beloved mother, grandmother, devoted wife, and cherished teacher’s aide, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at the age of 73, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 4, 1953, in Philadelphia, PA, she spent her life bringing joy and laughter to those around her.
Janice was the quintessential mother, known for her exceptional ability to create magic during holidays, vacations, and every day moments for her family. She gave her son and daughter a beautiful, memorable childhood and, most recently, was a devoted and loving Grammie to her granddaughter. Her infectious sense of humor—along with her talent for cracking jokes and being delightfully silly—will always be remembered and cherished.
For more than 20 years, Janice served as a dedicated teacher’s assistant at St. Andrew Preschool in Newtown, PA, where her nurturing and creative spirit touched the lives of countless children and families. She was often requested by parents for their younger siblings, a testament to the genuine care, warmth, and joy she brought into the classroom each day.
Janice found peace and happiness along the shores of Sea Isle City, NJ, and in Bermuda—places where she treasured time shared with her family. She loved beach glass hunting, searching the sand for shells, and spending hours in the ocean. The beach was truly her happy place.
She had a lifelong love for animals, beginning in her youth when she lovingly cared for an abandoned wild bunny she named Thumper. That same compassion remained with her throughout her life, most especially in the deep affection she held for her beloved cats.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Kropp, whom she shared over 43 years of laughter, love, and a beautiful family; their children, Kristin Kropp-Texter, wife of Kyle of Lancaster, and Ryan Kropp, husband of Sarah, of Pennington, NJ, a granddaughter, Camryn Texter, her sister, Susan Griffiths of Lewes, DE, niece Kimberly Panzitta, nephew Jason Duzenski, and grand-nieces Sophia Duzenski, Hannah Duzenski and Grace Panzitta . She was preceded in passing by her parents, John and Laura (Kalman) Figel, and a brother, John Figel.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on April 8, 2026, from 2 - 4 PM at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. As we gather to celebrate Janice's life, we invite those whose lives she touched to share in the memories that will forever keep her spirit alive in our hearts.
