Janet Marie Werts-Cavna-Smugeresky, 70 of Upper Darby, PA, Ocean City, NJ and Davenport, FL
Janet Marie Werts-Cavna-Smugeresky, 70 went to be with our Lord on Sunday February 19th. Janet's husband Eugene Smugeresky; son, Scott Cavna; daughter, Sharon Cavna and daughter, Deborah Cavna-Murray were close by at the time.
Janet was born in Wilmot, Bradford County, Pennsylvania and primarily raised in the Westfield Acres neighborhood of Camden, New Jersey. Janet lived for over 35 years in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Janet enjoyed reading and gardening. She performed volunteer work for Radio Information Center for the Blind. Janet made the most of retirement life by living in Ocean City, New Jersey for six years followed by four years in Davenport, Florida.
Pre-deceased by her mother; Gertrude Swift-Werts, father; Laurence Werts, first-husband; Lester Cavna, Brother; John Wertz (his last name changed during WWII from Werts), sister; Leona Naomi Werts-Kitts, sister; Gertrude Werts-Jones-LaFollette.
Survivors: Current-husband; Eugene Smugeresky, brother; Lawrence Werts of Pennsauken, NJ, sister; Barbara Werts-Feltenberger (Richard) of Erie, PA, sister; Sara Werts-Spiker (Charles) of Erie, PA, son; Scott Cavna (Elizabeth) of Upper Darby, PA; daughter, Sharon Cavna of Davenport, FL; daughter Deborah Cavna-Murray (Fran)of Downingtown, PA; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held on Thursday, February 23rd, 2012 at 10:00AM at the Challenger Club House, 1744 Challenger Ave., Davenport, FL 33897 – 863-420-1591
Relatives and friends are also invited to her viewing 10-11 AM and Funeral Mass 11 AM Tuesday, February 28th, 2012 at
St. Philip the Apostle Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603
Interment at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery
In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to Chapters Health, 12973 N. Telecom Parkway, Temple Terrace, FL 33637 (Good Shepherd Hospice is a subsidiary of Chapters Health).
