Janet A. Kreider

The family of Janet A. Kreider tearfully announces her passing on August 17, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lancaster on August 8, 1941, Janet was the daughter of the late Leo and Emma (Sheaffer) Angelini. Janet lived a life deeply rooted in love and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Janet dedicated over 28 years of her life as an EKG Technician at Lancaster General Hospital, where her commitment to caring for others reflected her generous spirit and unwavering dedication to the healthcare profession. Her clinical skill was matched only by her warmth and kindness, traits that resonated deeply with her colleagues and patients alike.

For over 63 years, Janet shared a loving partnership with her husband, Mervin Kreider. Together, they built a family foundation that revolved around their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life. Janet was a devoted animal lover, particularly fond of her cats, and found joy in nurturing both her furry companions and her expansive family.

Her passion for the arts led her to frequent various entertainment venues, where she reveled in musicals, concerts, and theatrical performances. Janet approached life with a cup of coffee in hand and an infectious sense of humor, finding joy in the little things. She lived by the philosophy of kindness and forgiveness, demonstrating grace in every interaction and encouraging others to do the same.

Janet is survived by her beloved husband, Mervin Kreider; their children, Steven W. Kreider, husband of Diane of Lancaster, and Susan K. Mummert, wife of John of Murrells Inlet, SC; granddaughters, Elizabeth Cooper (Chance) and Mariah Kreider, 2 great grandchildren, her sister, Peggy White, and many extended family. She was preceded in passing by her parents, and a sister, Nancy Gingrich.
