Jane Marie Morrison

Jane Marie Morrison (Hinkle), age 96, recently from Lititz, Pennsylvania, passed from this world peacefully on April 16, 2026 with family by her side. She was a friend to many, Mother to three, Nana to nine and great Nana to seven. She is pre-deceased by husband Bert (1928 to 2017), sister Mary Grace, Mother Grace and Father Bill. Jane is survived by daughter Carol Yelle, her husband Peter and their children Becca, Hannah (fiance Justin), Tim and Nick (partner Olivia); son Jeff, his wife Tracylynn, and his children Emily, (son George), Andrea (wife Jenn), and step son Gabe; and son Glenn Morrison, his wife Diane and their children Michelle (husband Michael Mattelson, daughter Leah and son Jacob), Matthew (wife Kelly, daughter Natalie and son Jackson) and Daniel (wife Jessica, son Hudson and daughter Kiley). She is also preceded in death by a long line of family miniature dachshunds, including most recently Heidi, who enjoyed sitting on the porch swing nearly as much as Jane and Bert.

Born at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, PA in 1930, Jane grew up in Clifton Heights and East Lansdowne, PA. She married the boy "from the other side of the tracks", Bert Morrison, in 1955 and they raised their family in Drexel Hill, PA before retiring together to Landenberg, PA.

Jane, Bert and family enjoyed family camping adventures in Lancaster County and throughout the East Coast. Later, during their retirement years, Jane and Bert enjoyed many cruise adventures and being with grandchildren. Their love of people watching extended from a shady porch in Drexel Hill to campground general stores to greeting school buses as they drove by. Jane was a master at baking Sand Tart cookies that she made by the hundreds each Christmas and later helped her in her journey with dementia. She also enjoyed talking about her time working at the Lansdowne Ice and Coal skating rink and former Bazaar of All Nations

Jane never met a song that she did not like to the point that if she did not remember all the words, she simply made them up. She was also once a formidable opponent in Wheel of Fortune and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. Jane is now reunited with the love of her life enjoying a glass of iced tea.

Jane and Bert's family would like to thank the loving support and care provided by Harbor Chase of Wilmington, Legend of Lititz and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center at Lititz.

A Celebration of Life and a burial will take place at a later date.

Donations in Jane's memory may be made to the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress
