James B. Geiter

James B. Geiter, 80, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2026. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Sarah (Detz) and James F. Geiter, Jr.

Jim was the beloved husband of Jane Jamison, with whom he shared more than 28 years of marriage. He was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School. Jim worked at Trojan Yacht as an industrial engineer and then ITT and then eventually retired.

Jim was a man who enjoyed keeping busy and had a genuine appreciation for the things that interested him. Jim enjoyed the simple things in life, especially anything involving cars. He loved tinkering on cars, attending car shows, and target shooting. Jim and Jane also looked forward to their time away, especially visiting St. Pete Beach, Florida, and Sunset Beach, North Carolina. Most of all, Jim enjoyed the people he loved. He took pride in his family and treasured the time spent with them.

In addition to his wife, Jane, Jim is survived by his sister, Linda Kneier, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Dillon and Devon Costrello; sisters-in-law, Janet (Dennis) Brown of Mount Joy, Joan (C. Robert) McComsey of Columbia, and June (Ronald) Hassel of Lancaster; and nephews, David (Sarah) Kneier of Columbia and Jason (Jessi) Kneier of Connecticut.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Justine L. Geiter, and brother-in-law, Gerald Kneier.

Private Inurnment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
