James D. "Jim" Brewer

It is with profound sadness that we must announce that James “Jim” D. Brewer left his family and friends to go to his eternal home on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at LGH after a brief battle with cancer and with his wife at his side.

He was born in Memphis, TN and at age 12 moved to Lititz. Jim was a graduate of Warwick High School, class of 1965. He then proudly served in the US Navy from 1965-1969 as a jet mechanic during the Vietnam Era. He was stationed aboard the USS Kitty Hawk Aircraft Carrier. Jim was a survivor of the USS Forrestal fire disaster in 1967.

Jim enjoyed genealogy and was a proud member of the “Sons of the American Revolution.” He also enjoyed Civil War history and visiting historic battle fields.

Jim was an active member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Lititz, PA. He served in numerous positions within the church. He and his wife Elaine were the second couple married in the new church…way back in July of 1968.

Jim was the loving husband and best friend of Elaine Y. (Sipe) Brewer for 57 years; proud father to Kristi R. (Brewer) Napoleonis and grandfather to Ari M. Napoleonis; and brother of Ray Brewer of Mobile, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and his son-in-law.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 222 N. Broad St, Lititz, PA 17543. The family will receive guests from 1:00-2:00 pm.

Please omit flowers. The best way to remember Jim would be to perform an act of kindness for another person.
