Hector L. Leon-Perez

Hector L. Leon-Perez, 69, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 17, 2026. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Silverio Leon and Blasina Perez. He was also the devoted husband to Sonia Leon, celebrating 52 years of marriage this year.

Hector spent many years as a carpenter for Millersville University prior to his retirement in 2013. Outside of his professional life, he made sure to stay active, enjoying long bike rides and keeping up with his grandkids. He was also devout in his faith, being an elder amongst the Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he spent his days volunteering and sharing his faith with the community at large. He saw each and every opportunity to meet someone new as a chance to connect and form a meaningful relationship, and his easygoing nature and fun personality made it easy for him to do so. At home, he loved spending time with his family and playing his guitars, many of which were scattered throughout his home as he collected them over the years.

Hector survives by his wife Sonia; his children, Elaine Leon, Heidi Rodriguez, and Cindy Rodriguez; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and his 3 sisters and 2 brothers. He is preceded in passing by a brother and sister; and 2 sons-in-law.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
