Gloria Jean Folker

Gloria Jean Folker, of Strasburg, passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 83. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Rosalie (Gray) Baker and the beloved wife to John B. Folker for almost 69 years.

Gloria dedicated her life to the noble pursuit of education. With a Doctorate in Education, she inspired countless children during her tenure as a teacher for Montgomery County, Maryland. Throughout her life, Gloria exemplified a profound love for learning and teaching that resonated deeply with all who knew her. Her commitment to education was matched only by her devotion to her family. As a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she found her greatest joy in nurturing the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her devoted husband, John, Glorida is survived by her sons: John R. Folker (husband of Barbara) of Millersville and Joseph C. Folker of Strasburg; 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by her sons Jeffrey D. Folker and Bronson Young.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 955 Robert Fulton Hwy., Quarryville, PA 17566 from 10AM to 11AM with a Mass of Christian burial to begin at 11AM. Interment to follow at St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery.
