German Rivera-Huertas

German Rivera-Huertas, 71, of Lancaster, PA, passed away at UPMC, Lititz, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

He was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, son of the late Francisco Rivera and Georgina Huertas. German shared 52 beautiful years with Carmen “Angie” G. Nunez, including 23 years in marriage.

He was a very hard worker, now retired from High Steel where he painted steel beams for bridges. German loved to grill and barbecue and spend as much time as he could with his family. He enjoyed traveling, eating Chinese food, fishing, soaking up the sun on the beach in Puerto Rico, and a good cold beer after his work was completed.

German was of the Catholic Faith.

Family includes his wife, Angie; three children, Brenda I. Rivera of Lancaster, German Luis Rivera, husband of Rita of Manheim, and Pedro Nagel-Nunez “Pito”, husband of David Nagel-Nunez of Mountville; five grandchildren, David DeJesus “Papito”, Geremiah Luis Rivera “Gere”, husband of Shaylin, Derick Galarza “Moyo”, Ohneiyah A. Rivera “Ohnei”, and Dior Sophia Rivera; and his great-grandson, Gianni Luis Rivera.

German was preceded in death by his parents and his older siblings, Roberto Rivera “Coco” and Luz Nereida Rivera “Nelly.”

A funeral liturgy will take place at 3 pm Wednesday, April 8, 2026, with Deacon Expedito Santos officiating, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. Viewings will take place from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, April 7th and 1-3 pm on Wednesday, April 8th. Interment will be in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
