Georgina Westerband Luyanda

Georgina Westerband Luyanda, 81, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026. Born in Patillas, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Jorge Westerband and Josefa Luyanda Rodriguez.

Georgina spent many years as a service aide at Conestoga View until her retirement. In addition to working full-time, she took great pride in being a single mother to her three children, making sure they never went without. Georgina enjoyed every moment she spent with her family, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making her house a gathering place for holidays and birthdays, and cooking home-cooked meals. She was an excellent cook, and she took pride in her cooking. She loved cleaning, remembered everyone's birthday, and called them to make them feel special.

This love for gathering and spending time together extended to those outside of her family, and friends welcomed anyone needing a place to be. She was devout in her faith and outspoken about her Puerto Rican heritage, dancing and singing along to her favorite tunes. She will be remembered for her resilient spirit and selfless nature.

Georgina survives by her children, Mayra E. Rodriguez, Jessica L. (Perry) Turner Rodriguez, and Juan A. Rodriguez Jr.; grandchildren Marrajae J. Bair, Darris J. Bair Jr., Avionne L. Turner, Ciarra N. Turner, Kelis M. Turner, and Javant A. Rodriguez; great-grandchildren Daizhon, Avaya, Ahvani, and Kelan; siblings Risalina Santiago, Vidalina Westerband, Nelson Rodriguez, and William Rodriguez; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her parents, and sister Dalila Ramos.

Friends and relatives are welcomed to Charles Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 11-1PM, with a service to honor Georgina’s life and faith beginning at 1PM. Georgina will be laid to rest at Riverview Burial Park following the service.
