George J. Terlikosky, Jr.

George John Terlikosky was welcomed into the arms of the Lord August 26, 2026, after yet another battle with cancer, finally succumbing to a treacherous bout of pneumonia.

He was the eldest son of Mary Challen and George Terlikosky, a potato farmer in Hicksville, Long Island, New York.

Graduating Hicksville High School and attending Hofstra University, he joined the United States Air Force on Jan. 9th, 1962. He received his basic training at Lackland AFB, TX. He attended tech school for Radio/Radar Satellite Tracking in Biloxi, MS. Stationed at the island of Luzon in the Philippines as a Radio Radar tech working flightline maintenance, assigned to 1961 Comgroups and transferring to "First MOB" (1st Mobile Groups) in Guam, the Philippines, Japan, Korea, he then transferred to Tan Son Nhut Airbase in Saigon, where he was assigned to the Military Assistance Command in Tai Ninh, Vietnam, AKA "MAC-V house." He was loaned to the Ranger Battalion and received further training in Cambodia, Chicago U.S., Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Netherlands, Korea, France, Spain, India. Being loaned to Special Forces teams to run radio communications. He then went back to the Philippines then to Ramstein Air Base in Germany on an extended tour ending in Mississippi, receiving an honorable discharge at the rank of Buck Sergeant. His call sign was Lyrical 21 Delta.

After serving his country, he returned home to Long Island, where he would soon marry his loving wife of 56 years, Luise Marie Velcz Terlikosky. They would settle in New Holland, PA, where they attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. George served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years.

George enjoyed many hobbies over the years: woodworking, racquetball, motorcycling, camping with family. He was known to partake in a few hostile Scrabble games, as his passion for etymology grew over time. He was also a very accomplished self-taught sailor. He enjoyed many years on his various "yachts" with his sweetheart Luise, often wondering, "What the poor folks were doin'."

George served his community as a PA State Constable for over 25 years.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Luise Terlikosky (New Holland); his brothers John Terlikosky (PA), Joseph (married to Lori Terlikosky, TN); daughters Jennifer Terlikosky and Katrina Terlikosky (both of Lanc. PA); an adoring son James Terlikosky of New Holland and his partner Autumn Barton; a beloved granddaughter Taylor Terlikosky of Lancaster, PA; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion Yorkie "Wookie."

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water St, New Holland, PA, on Sept. 26th at 11:00 AM.

A celebration of life will be held the following day, Sunday, September 27th at 2pm at The New Holland American Legion Post 662 Banquet Hall, 35 South Hoover Ave., New Holland, where George was also a cherished member.

He is lovingly remembered for his faithful service to God, his family and his country.
