George A. Powders, Jr.

George A. Powders, Jr., 78, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Emerald Nursing & Rehab, Elizabethtown. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late George A., Sr. and Jennie D. (Madonna) Powders. George was the longtime companion of the late Sharon Reese, who died in 2022.

A 1966 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, George went to work for Hamilton Watch where he worked until his retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

George enjoyed hunting all types of wild game including bear, deer, turkey, and pheasant in northern Pennsylvania and New York. He loved spending time with Sharon and his friends in the mountains.

George is survived by his brother, Charles Powders, of Willow Street and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his sister, Mary E. (Powders) Hardnele.
