George E. Karr

George E. Karr, 86, of Holtwood, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Hospice & Community Care of Mount Joy surrounded by family.

Born and raised in Holtwood, he was the son of the late William L. and Sarah R. (Warfield) Karr. He was the loving husband of Jane E. (Mancuso), and they would have celebrated 57 years of marriage this year.

George worked as a heavy equipment operator for 55 years. An avid hunter, he was a member of the Pequea Valley Sportsman Association and enjoyed spending time in nature. In his younger years, he loved camping and horseback riding. George also had a passion for drag racing and earned more than 120 trophies through the years. He was a devoted NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhardt always being his favorite driver. He enjoyed relaxing with old western movies and listening to classic country music. George was always working on a project around the house and could often be found fixing or building something.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; his son, Tony (Teena) Karr; his sister, Esta Greer; his grandson, Daulton (Tina) Karr; and his great granddaughters, Nicole and Naomi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 14 siblings, and daughter, Susan E. Karr.

Friends and family will be received from 6PM to 7PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. A Memorial Service will follow beginning at 7PM.
