Genevieve R Forbes

Genevieve R. Forbes, 91, of Marietta, passed away at her residence on July 16, 2026.

She was the devoted wife of 50 years to the late Robert Forbes, who passed away in 2003. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James and Genevieve McKane Bergen.

Genevieve had worked as a production clerk for RR Donnelly and Sons for over 20 years until her retirement. She had also been a homemaker.

She was a member of St Philip The Apostle Catholic Church where she had volunteered.

She loved to read and was an excellent cook, known for her Macaroni Salad. She also was part of a Girls Card Club which played for 50 years as a group.

Genevieve is survived by her children: Robert married to Nancy Forbes of Millersville, and Virginia married to Daniel Roy of Lancaster; her grandson Eric Forbes and her siblings Robert and Charles Kelly and John Bergen. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Taylor, and Catherine Hafto.

Friends will be received on Thursday, July 23, 2026 by her family from 10-11AM at St Philip The Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Genevieve’s memory to St. Philip Church at the above address.
