Emblem

Gary David Riegel, 59, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in Bethesda, MD, he was the son of the late Walter and Janice (Anderson) Riegel of Lancaster, PA.

Gary graduated from Spackenkill High School in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1985 before earning a bachelor's degree in Industrial and Product Design from Syracuse University. He went on to dedicate 18 years of service to the Office of Naval Intelligence in Washington, D.C., where he worked as a talented Visual Information Specialist.

Outside of his professional life, Gary had a passion for photography and enjoyed capturing the beauty of nature through his lens. He also took great pleasure in preserving family history by digitizing old family photographs. A devoted sports fan, he proudly supported the Washington Commanders and Syracuse basketball.

Gary is survived by his brothers, Jeff Riegel and his wife, Gail, of Leland, NC, and Darrell Riegel of Poughkeepsie, NY; and his nieces, Allison and Katherine Riegel, daughters of Jeff and Gail.
