Fredrica Horn "Ricki" Stringfellow

Fredrica Horn Stringfellow, known to family and friends as Ricki, passed away on July 21, 2026, following a brief illness. She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Greenawalt and her husband, Mike; her son, Brent Stringfellow and his wife, Susan; her beloved grandchildren, Katie, Isabel, Vivien, Meissa, and Zeke; and her brother, Chris Horn and his wife, Shirley. Ricki was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Stringfellow.

Ricki was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on November 13, 1942, the oldest child of Harold and Roseann (Biever) Horn. She spent her childhood in Allentown and Williamsport and was a member of the Williamsport High School class of 1960. She attended Lock Haven University, graduating with a degree in Physical Education in 1964. She made her home in Selinsgrove for more than 40 years, later moving to Emmaus, and most recently to Hershey in 2025.

Ricki led a life of warmth, enthusiasm, and an unwavering commitment to the people and communities she loved. Family and friends were at the center of her life, and she found deep purpose in serving others. A devoted member of the Lutheran Church, she served as a Lay Minister in the Upper Susquehanna Synod and remained active in her faith throughout her life.

Trained as a teacher, Ricki dedicated her career to serving her community, always drawn to opportunities to support those most in need. After retiring from the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU), she embraced retirement as another opportunity to give back, devoting countless hours to volunteer service.

While living in Selinsgrove, she volunteered with the Friends of Snyder County Library, the Kiwanis Club, and St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. She also served on the boards of several organizations, including Meals on Wheels and Haven Ministry, and was a member of the United Way Diversity Impact Council.

In recent years, she remained deeply committed to her community through the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, where she was an active member and volunteer. She also served on the boards of the Friends of the Emmaus Public Library and Kiwanis of Emmaus. In recognition of her extraordinary service, she received a Lehigh Valley Unsung Hero Award in 2021.

Ricki will be remembered for the generosity of her friendship. Whether reconnecting with lifelong friends or welcoming new acquaintances, she had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen and cared for. She was always ready with a conversation, a handwritten card that arrived at just the right moment, or a batch of someone's favorite homemade treats. Her kindness was intentional, personal, and enduring, and the lives she touched are richer because of it.

A celebration of Ricki's life will be held on August 15, 2026, at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus, PA. Further details about the service will be forthcoming.

In her honor, the family invites memorial donations to the Friends of the Emmaus Public Library. Those who wish to celebrate Ricki's legacy in another way are encouraged to dedicate their time and talents in service to their own communities and neighbors-a tribute she would have appreciated most.
