Frances H. McNamara

Frances H. McNamara, 82, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was the loving wife of John J. McNamara, Jr.

Frances worked for John Wanamaker’s in Philadelphia for many years before retiring. She was a devoted member of Resurrection Parish in Philadelphia, where she served as the First Vice President of the parish seniors’ group. After moving to Lancaster, Frances and John became actively involved in the Village Grande community and enjoyed participating in community events and activities. She was also a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church for more than 20 years. Frances loved traveling and treasured the many memories she made. Her family was the center of her life, and she especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She was deeply proud of her Catholic faith, which guided her throughout her life. Frances also had a great love of food, with ice cream and chocolates holding a special place among her favorites.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John; her children, Steven McNamara, husband of Renee, and Helen McNamara; and her grandchildren, Megan, Steven Jr., and Roisin McNamara.

Friends and family will be received from 10AM to 11AM for a time of visitation on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow beginning at 11AM. Interment will be held privately at the request of the family.
