Florence H. “Floppi” Greenwood, 94, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at The Glen at Willow Valley.
Born in Somers Point, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Willits P. and Charlotta Y. (Olsen) Haines, Jr. She was the loving wife of the late W. Kenneth Greenwood. They shared 67 years of marriage before his passing.
Floppi was raised in Marlton, NJ, and later moved to Ocean City, NJ. She graduated from high school in 1949 before moving to Plumsteadville, PA. In 1955, she married her husband, Ken, and together they moved to the Philadelphia area. In 1957, they settled in Huntingdon Valley, PA, where they remained for many years. In 2013, Floppi and Ken moved to Willow Valley Communities in Lancaster, PA, where they called home ever since.
Floppi was active in her community and enjoyed giving her time to others. She volunteered with Bethanna Children’s Home, served on the Board of Directors for Lakeside Education Network, and was involved with Bethel Chapel of Huntingdon Valley. She was also a former Pioneer Girls leader. Ken and Floppi owned and operated Ken Greenwood Furniture for many years.
She had many interests and enjoyed a life filled with adventure. Floppi loved horses and had her pilot’s license, enjoying her time flying planes. She also loved being on the water, especially sailing and boating. She was talented with a needle and thread and enjoyed sewing and tailoring clothing. Her smile will be missed by many.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Greenwood, Sue (Mike) Stinson, Lindy (Bob) Huber, and Charlene Shelinsky; her grandchildren, Lesley (Steve) Taylor, Kelly (Frank) Rossi, Robbie (Alex) Huber, Jon Huber, Brittany Boyle, and Parick Boyle; and great grandchildren, Paige Huber and Levi Huber.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ken; and siblings, “Bunk” Haines and “Chic” Ruth.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, beginning at 11AM at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.
