Felix Martinez

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Felix Martinez, who departed this life on May 16, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on July 28, 1938, in Morovis, Puerto Rico, Felix devoted his life to his family and community. He resided in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he was known for his deep-rooted pride in his Puerto Rican heritage and his family. 

Felix served as a steadfast pillar for his family, assuming the role of the man of the house at a young age, raising his siblings, while his father served in multiple wars. His calm demeanor and sound guidance earned him the affectionate title of the family peacemaker. 

A passionate New York Yankees fan, Felix brought enthusiasm and joy to his loved ones through his unwavering support of his team. He also embraced the art of music and writing poetry with remarkable talent, often expressing his love through the melodies he played on his guitar. Family gatherings during the holidays were particularly special, as Felix filled the air with music, fostering a warm and loving atmosphere that will be fondly remembered.

His legacy and love will live on in his children, Caroline Medina, wife of Bolivar Medina Jr., Iluminado Martinez, engaged to Madelin Gonzalez, Rafael Martinez, Iris Martinez, and Rene Martinez, husband of Christina; grandchildren, Melanie Melendez, Martin Fragosa, Natalie Medina, Gina Martinez, Annette Martinez, Jasmine Martinez, Timothy Medina, Julie Martinez, Olivia Medina, Rafael Martinez Jr., Luis Rodriguez III, and Rene Martinez Jr., 7 great grandchildren, as well as his siblings, Monserate Martinez, Elizabeth Pabon and Carmen Martinez.

Funeral services will be held to celebrate his life. A public viewing will take place at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St. Lancaster on May 21, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The funeral service honoring Felix will be conducted at the same location on May 22, 2026, with a viewing beginning at 9 am and the funeral service at 10:00 AM followed by the graveside service at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
