Ethel L. Neus

Ethel J. Neus, 104, a longtime resident of Luther Acres Retirement Community in Lititz, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 2, 2026.

Born to George and Ethel Janson, she lived a long and full life shaped by faith, family, and friendship. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Charles and George Janson; her husband of 71 years, Charles Henry Neus; her son Steven H. Neus; and other cherished family members.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty A. Bee, wife of Robert; her daughter-in-law, Wendy Neus; four grandchildren: Stephanie Crocco, wife of Charles; Jane Bee, wife of William Jens; Barbara Bee, wife of Michael Lilly; and Robert Bee Jr., husband of Jenna; as well as four great grandchildren—Andrew Crocco, and Betty, William and James Jens. Living to see her great‑grandchildren was a source of deep pride, and she delighted in watching them grow.

Ethel was known for her spirit and wide range of interests. She found pleasure in the competition of golf and bridge, believed in supporting the mission of the Girl Scouts of America, having served in many roles over many decades. Reading, knitting, crocheting, and doing crossword puzzles were some of her very favorite pastimes.

A devoted member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City, New York, she and her husband raised their family in that community before retiring to Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, and later Timber Pines, Florida. She spent the last 14 years as a resident of Luther Acres. Her faith, generosity, and warm spirit touched all who knew her.

She will be remembered for her intelligence, her sharp sense of humor, and the steady love she shared across generations.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the care team at Luther Acres and the Masonic Village Hospice team for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ethel’s memory to the Luthercare Caring Fund, 600 East Main Street Lititz, PA 17543.
