It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Smith Leakway II, a beloved father, cherished “Pop Pop”, and devoted musician, who left this world on May 4, 2026, in his hometown of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Born on May 26, 1959, he lived a life filled with rhythm, laughter, and love.
Ed was a proud die-hard San Francisco 49ers fan. He spent countless years as a drummer with The Roof Rockers, sharing his talents and passion for music with audiences far and wide. Music was more than a profession for Ed; it was a way of life that resonated deeply within him. When he wasn’t performing, you could often find him enjoying WWE Wrestling. Family meant everything to Eddie. He found solace and true happiness in spending time with his daughters, Christina Leakway and Erin Leakway. Whether it was at home, relaxing in his favorite chair, or sharing hearty laughter during family gatherings, he cherished every moment he got to spend with them.
Ed is survived by his mother Mary M. Leakway; daughters Christina and Erin, grandchildren: Jayden, Kaylee and Presley Leakway, Nicole N. Lewis, Case A. Gamby and Romey G. Leakway, and siblings, Pauline Morrison and Carl Ford. He was preceded in passing by his father Edward S. Leakway Sr., and his son, John Leakway.
The family invites guests to a viewing on May 11, 2026, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA.
