Dr. Alfredo Concha Reyes

El Dr. Alfredo Concha Reyes, de 73 años y residente de Manheim, falleció pacíficamente el jueves 3 de septiembre de 2026 en su hogar, rodeado de su amorosa familia. 

Nacido en Veracruz, México, era hijo de los difuntos Perfecto Concha Pérez y Sofía Reyes Ramón. Alfredo fue el amado esposo de María Antonia Avendaño, con quien compartió 48 años de matrimonio.

Alfredo se graduó con orgullo de la Universidad Veracruzana y desarrolló su carrera profesional como optometrista. Dedicó su vida a servir y ayudar a los demás, tanto a través de su profesión como en su comunidad. Fue un miembro fiel de La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días. También sirvió en el ministerio de música de la Iglesia Presbiteriana Resurrection durante más de 15 años. 

La música era una de las grandes pasiones de Alfredo. Amaba especialmente la música cubana y brasileña, y era un excelente bajista. Fue un hombre amable, humilde y compasivo, siempre cordial y acogedor con todas las personas que conocía. Quienes lo conocieron recordarán su maravilloso sentido del humor, su cálida personalidad, su disposición para ayudar a los demás y su afición por las películas de ciencia ficción.

Además de su esposa, a Alfredo le sobreviven sus dos hijos: Ruth Concha Avendaño y su esposo, Salvador; y Alfredo Concha Avendaño y su esposa, Catalina. También le sobreviven cinco nietos —Marco, Henry, Eduardo, Amy Lu y Jacob— y tres bisnietos: Jonathan, Elías y Limary.

Asimismo, le sobreviven sus hermanos: Víctor Concha Reyes y su esposa, Emilia Rodríguez; Lidia Concha Reyes y su esposo, Roberto García; Margarita Concha Reyes y su esposo, Eduardo Sánchez; y Sofía Concha Reyes y su esposo, Miguel Hernández.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus hermanos Julia Concha Reyes y José Alberto Concha Reyes. Se invita respetuosamente a familiares y amigos a asistir al servicio funerario de Alfredo en la funeraria y crematorio Charles F. Snyder (Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory), ubicada en 414 East King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602, el miércoles 9 de septiembre de 2026 a las 12:00 del mediodía. Dr. Alfredo Concha Reyes, 73, of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Veracruz, Mexico, he was the son of the late Perfecto Concha Pérez and Sofía Reyes Ramón. Alfredo was the loving husband of María Antonia Avendaño, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

Alfredo proudly graduated from Veracruz University and spent his professional career as an optometrist. He devoted his life to serving and helping others, both through his profession and in his community. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also served in the music ministry at Resurrection Presbyterian Church for more than 15 years.

Music was one of Alfredo's greatest passions. He especially loved Cuban and Brazilian music and was a great bass musician. He was a kind, humble, and compassionate man who was always friendly and welcoming to everyone he met. Those who knew him will remember his wonderful sense of humor, his warm personality, his willingness to help others, and his love of science-fiction movies.

In addition to his wife, Alfredo is survived by his two children, Ruth Concha Avendaño and her husband, Salvador, and Alfredo Concha Avendaño and his wife, Catalina. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Marco, Henry, Eduardo, Amy Lu, and Jacob; and three great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Elías, and Limary.

Also surviving are his siblings, Víctor Concha Reyes and his wife, Emilia Rodríguez; Lidia Concha Reyes and her husband, Roberto García; Margarita Concha Reyes and her husband, Eduardo Sánchez; and Sofía Concha Reyes and her husband, Miguel Hernández.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Julia Concha Reyes and José Alberto Concha Reyes.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Alfredo's funeral service at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 East King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 12:00 noon. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
