Dorothy M. Schnader

Dorothy M. Schnader, 101, of Cornwall, passed away peacefully on Monday June 1, 2026, at Cornwall Manor.

Born on October 17, 1924, in York, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Viola Bailey. Dorothy shared a loving marriage with her husband, Elmer A. Schnader, for 77 years until his passing in 2021.

Dorothy was raised in Wrightsville and spent many years there before moving to Cornwall Manor. She spent most of her working life as a seamstress. She was very dedicated in her faith and was close with the Grace United Methodist Church in Wrightsville and the United Methodist Church in Cornwall.

She did everything with her husband Elmer. They traveled together on cruises and to Las Vegas. They participated and won many radio contests and games. Dorothy and Elmer also loved to fish and camp. They were members of the Lancaster Guys and Dolls club and bowling leagues over the years.

She is survived by her son, James Schnader and his wife Evelyn along with her granddaughter Amy Schnader and her husband John Koza. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her siblings Betty Welher, Henry Bailey, and James Bailey.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, 10am to 11am at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster. Funeral services will begin at 11am. Dorothy will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Greenwood Cemetery, Lancaster.
