Donald H. Savage

Donald H. Savage passed away March 21, 2026 at age 88 in Lancaster, PA.

He was born in the Adirondacks to Donald L. and Vera Savage. He graduated from Au Sable Forks high school in 1955, and graduated from Hamilton College in 1959. He was married to his beloved wife Adrienne in 1960, and they raised 4 children. In 1967 He earned an MBA degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He had a 40 year career with the Allstate Insurance Company finishing as a Director of Public Relations in Chicago IL. He and Adrienne enjoyed 25 years of retirement in Tonto Verde, AZ before he moved to Lancaster, PA in 2022.

He is pre deceased by his wife of 57 years, Adrienne. Surviving are their four children:

Donald C. Colebrook NH, Neil (wife Judy) Lancaster PA, Dawn Lancaster PA, Kathryn (husband William) Glen Gardner NJ, and 5 grandchildren: Peter, John, Hannah, Charlotte, William, and 1 great grandchild, Celine. He also leaves his sister Mary Francis of Ausable Forks NY.

He was an avid reader. He loved the newspaper, and he was never without a book. He loved deer hunting, fishing, and playing golf through out his life. He counted the retirement years in Arizona with Adrienne and all of their friends, as one of the best of times. He spent his summers golfing, hiking and fishing in the Adirondacks sharing many sunsets and pontoon boat rides with family and friends. He leaves behind many cherished memories for us all.

A Catholic Memorial Mass and burial will take place in the town of Black Brook in the Adirondacks July of this year.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Lancaster on Friday April 24, 2026 from 3 - 5PM at the Charles Snyder Funeral Home 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA 17543.
