Dianne E. "Des" St. Clair, 75, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lancaster, Des was the beloved daughter of the late Elwood K. and Mina Hauf Snyder. She shared a loving marriage of more than 50 years with her husband, Timothy J. "Tim" St. Clair. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lancaster.
Des proudly graduated from McCaskey High School in 1969 before furthering her education at West Chester State College, from which she graduated in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education. She devoted 36 years to the students at Centerville Middle School in the Hempfield School District as a health and physical education teacher. Early on in her career, she served as the girls tennis coach at Hempfield High School. For several years, she was also an assistant field hockey coach at Lancaster Catholic High School.
She cherished time spent at her beach house in Avalon, New Jersey, where she created countless treasured memories with family and friends, especially with her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. She enjoyed playing tennis at RCW Athletic Club and Lancaster Tennis & Yacht Club and was an enthusiastic fan of her beloved Philadelphia Phillies. Her love for sports extended to cheering on the Green Bay Packers as well. She delighted in entertaining family and friends and was known for transforming her home to celebrate every holiday, no matter the season. An avid Snoopy collector, Des will also be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering devotion to her family, witty sense of humor, and remarkable ability to make every holiday and gathering feel special.
In addition to her husband, Tim, she is survived by two children, Margaret E. "Maggie" St. Clair, wife of Kelly Thomas, and Andrew Q. St. Clair, husband of Jamie; grandchildren, Shayla Q., Emilia L., and Kinsley E., along with step-great-granddaughter, Saylor M. She was preceded in death by her sister, Vicki L. Feirick.
The family would like to send their most sincere thanks to the staff at both Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute and Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, for the exceptional care they provided to Des throughout her illness. Their kindness and compassion brought great comfort to Des and her family.
