Diane Louise Rossi
Diane Louise Rossi, 82, of Brownstown, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Mills and Elizabeth (Riebling) Mills. Diane was the loving wife of Francis "Frank" Anthony Rossi who passed away in 2004. She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Lancaster, PA. Diane started her first job in Manhattan working for Sears, Roebuck and Co. as a secretary where she met her future husband, Frank. He delivered her office mail every day, and one glance was all it took for their love story to take flight. They made a home in Glendale, Queens where they would live and raise their two daughters before moving to Lancaster, PA in 1995.
Diane devoted her life after marriage to her family and her home. A woman of remarkable strength, she lived life with passion, adding her unmistakable touch to all she did. Her Victorian-style decorated home and garden was her pride, a stunning showcase that stood on par with the finest designers. She loved the holidays, and people would often drive by to see her iconic window displays. Living in her world was magical, and you always felt extra special in it. She loved fiercely and was beautiful, funny, sarcastic, and a straight shooter-someone who could put you in your place, sometimes with a single look, yet always had your best interests at heart. It's a New York thing. No games. All love. Her Shih Tzu's held a very special place in her heart - Zack, Winston, Oreo, Francis and Bennett. They were her family (along with various cats and birds too), and she loved them dearly. She also loved Elvis, General Hospital, shopping (all the time!), theater, museums and the Yankees. And let's not forget the casinos! Atlantic City was her favorite, and she was a two-time jackpot winner! Most importantly, her ultimate goal was to be the best mother ever, and she certainly fulfilled that calling. Her daughters were her best friends, she loved her son-in-law Joe like her own, and her two grandchildren, Ava (Snodgrass) and Greyson (Cranepool) brought her the greatest joy and clearly were her favorites. She always thought she would have had more time, and wasn't ready to leave her family. She will be honored and greatly missed by those who knew her. Simply said, she was just a really good human. Love you with all my heart, see you tomorrow, sweet dreams. Me too.
She is survived by her two daughters, Leigh Ulicny (wife of Joseph Ulicny), Susan Rossi, and her two grandchildren, Ava and Greyson Ulicny.
