Dennis M. Quinlivan

Dennis M. Quinlivan, 79, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Jean Quinlivan. He was also the dutiful and devoted husband to Dorothy “Dotty” Quinlivan since their marriage in 2005 (but he was devoted to her for even some years before that).

After graduating high school, Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Dennis also volunteered with the Somers Point Honor Guard, participating in parades, giving out meals and hosting events for other veterans, and becoming an advocate for the community of veterans and servicemen there. Dennis worked as a signalman for the New Jersey railroad for 17 years, and it was around this time that he first met Dotty. After they kept accidentally running into one another in different places around the area, he decided to make it official and ask her over for dinner. What followed was a beautiful relationship that blossomed over the course of over 30 years. Looking to find a quiet place to relocate, he and Dotty made the move to Lancaster together, where they enjoyed peaceful mornings at their home, watching Westerns or cartoons during the day, and joking around with one another. Dennis was caring, honest, and had an abundance of patience and natural inclination to help others.

Dennis is survived by his wife Dotty; sisters Lisa Quinlivan and Kathy (Debbie) Quinlivan; daughters Lisa (Lance) Bowden and Laura (Rich) Turso; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his parents, and sister Linda Kimes.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
