Debra Ann Kline-Smith

Debra Ann Kline-Smith, 66, a.k.a. the Queen of Lititz, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Roy, Jr. and Lorraine G. (Lawrence) Kline. Debra was the loving wife of Michael R. Smith, with whom he shared nearly 30 years of marriage.

Of the Christian Faith, Debra earned her bachelor's degree in music from Millersville University in 1982. Music was Debra's passion. Teaching music for more than 40 years, she first directed music at York Country Day prior to transitioning to Warwick High School where she continued to teach for 35 years.

She traveled extensively with various singing and music groups. Her travels took her to China, Japan, Singapore Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Mexico, the Bahamas, Western Europe, Hungary, Greece, and Croatia.

Debra was involved with many musical groups including the Pennsylvania Ambassadors of Music, American Music Abroad, the Lancaster and York Opera Companies, and was founder of Voices United, and the Lititz Area Community Choir (LACC) in 2022.

Debra was named in the Who's Who Among American Teachers and appeared in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) News and was named by the Lancaster-Lebanon Music Educators Association (LLMEA) as Teacher of the Year in 2022.

These are the mottos Debra lived by and has encouraged her students to embrace for over 40 years: Encouragement...Rain and Sun are to a flower as praise and encouragement are to the human spirit. Quality...Countless unseen details are often the only difference between mediocre and magnificent. Attitude...The greatest discovery of any generation is that a person can alter his life by altering their attitude. And last but not least Glitter makes the world a brighter place and she leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes.

She had a strive for life and strong, unstoppable work ethic. Whatever she set her heart and mind to do, she did with all her strength and succeeded. All those who knew her, knew she had zest for life and enjoyed sparkles, glitter, and jewels.

In addition to her husband, Michael, she is survived her brother, Jeffery R. Kline, husband of Diane E., of Hanover and his daughter Kirsten R. Wentz, wife of Gregory S., and their son, Liam, and Jeffrey's son, Justin R. Kline, husband of Courtney, and their children, August and Navy Rose.

Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 9AM to 11AM, Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
